In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious and The Most Merciful

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious and The Most Merciful

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

In The Name of Allah, The All-Merciful, The Ever-Merciful

Abdul Haleem:
In the name of God, the Lord of Mercy, the Giver of Mercy!

شروع کرتا ہوں اللہ تعالیٰ کے نام سے جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم واﻻ ہے

अल्लाह के नाम से जो रहमान रहीम है।

Dengan nama Allah, Yang Maha Pemurah, lagi Maha Mengasihani.

وَٱلۡفَجۡرِ

1.     Wal-Fajr
By the dawn

 

Yusuf Ali:
By the break of Day

Abul Ala Maududi:
By the dawn,

Muhsin Khan:
By the dawn;

Pickthall:
By the Dawn

Dr. Ghali:
And (by) the dawn,

Abdul Haleem:
By the Daybreak,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
قسم ہے فجر کی!

Suhel Farooq Khan:
सुबह की क़सम

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Demi waktu fajar;

وَلَيَالٍ عَشۡرٖ

2.     Wa layaalin ‘ashr
And [by] ten nights

 

Yusuf Ali:
By the Nights twice five;

Abul Ala Maududi:
and the ten nights,

Muhsin Khan:
By the ten nights (i.e. the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah).

Pickthall:
And ten nights,

Dr. Ghali:
And (by) the ten nights, (Commonly understood to be the First ten night of the pilgrimage).

Abdul Haleem:
by the Ten Nights,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اور دس راتوں کی!

Suhel Farooq Khan:
और दस रातों की

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Dan malam yang sepuluh (yang mempunyai kelebihan di sisi Allah);

وَٱلشَّفۡعِ وَٱلۡوَتۡرِ

3.     Wash shaf’i wal watr
And [by] the even [number] and the odd

 

Yusuf Ali:
By the even and odd (contrasted);

Abul Ala Maududi:
and the even and the odd,

Muhsin Khan:
And by the even and the odd (of all the creations of Allah).

Pickthall:
And the Even and the Odd,

Dr. Ghali:
And (by) the Even and the Odd,

Abdul Haleem:
by the even and the odd,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اور جفت اور طاق کی!

Suhel Farooq Khan:
और ज़ुफ्त ताक़ की

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Dan bilangan yang genap serta yang ganjil;

وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا يَسۡرِ

4.     Wallaili izaa yasr
And [by] the night when it passes,

 

Yusuf Ali:
And by the Night when it passeth away;-

Abul Ala Maududi:
and by the night when it departs.

Muhsin Khan:
And by the night when it departs.

Pickthall:
And the night when it departeth,

Dr. Ghali:
And (by) the night when it departs, (Or: sets forth passing away).

Abdul Haleem:
by the passing night––

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اور رات کی جب وه چلنے لگے

Suhel Farooq Khan:
और रात की जब आने लगे

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Dan malam, apabila ia berlalu; –

هَلۡ فِي ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٞ لِّذِي حِجۡرٍ

5.     Hal fee zaalika qasamul lizee hijr
Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception?

 

Yusuf Ali:
Is there (not) in these an adjuration (or evidence) for those who understand?

Abul Ala Maududi:
Is there in this an oath for one endowed with understanding?

Muhsin Khan:
There is indeed in them (the above oaths) sufficient proofs for men of understanding (and that, they should avoid all kinds of sins and disbeliefs, etc.)!

Pickthall:
There surely is an oath for thinking man.

Dr. Ghali:
Is there in that an oath for a sensible person? (Literally: person owning sense).

Abdul Haleem:
is this oath strong enough for a rational person?

Muhammad Junagarhi:
کیا ان میں عقلمند کے واسطے کافی قسم ہے

Suhel Farooq Khan:
अक्लमन्द के वास्ते तो ज़रूर बड़ी क़सम है (कि कुफ्फ़ार पर ज़रूर अज़ाब होगा)

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Bukankah yang demikian itu mengandungi sumpah (yang diakui kebenarannya) oleh orang yang berakal sempurna?

أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ

6.     Alam tara kaifa fa’ala rabbuka bi’aad

Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with ‘Aad –

 

Yusuf Ali:
Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the ‘Ad (people),-

Abul Ala Maududi:
Have you not seen how your Lord dealt with Ad

Muhsin Khan:
Did you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) not see (thought) how your Lord dealt with ‘Ad (people)?

Pickthall:
Dost thou not consider how thy Lord dealt with (the tribe of) A’ad,

Dr. Ghali:
Have you not seen how your Lord has done with Aad,

Abdul Haleem:
Have you [Prophet] considered how your Lord dealt with [the people] of ‘Ad,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
کیا آپ نے نہیں دیکھا کہ آپ کے رب نے عادیوں کے ساتھ کیا کیا

Suhel Farooq Khan:
क्या तुमने देखा नहीं कि तुम्हारे आद के साथ क्या किया

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
(Kami tetap akan membinasakan orang-orang yang menentangmu wahai Muhammad), tidakkah engkau perhatikan, bagaimana Tuhanmu telah melakukan terhadap kaum Aad (yang kufur derhaka)

إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلۡعِمَادِ

7.     Iramaa zaatil ‘imaad
[With] Iram – who had lofty pillars,

 

Yusuf Ali:
Of the (city of) Iram, with lofty pillars,

Abul Ala Maududi:
of Iram, known for their lofty columns,

Muhsin Khan:
Who were very tall like lofty pillars,

Pickthall:
With many-columned Iram,

Dr. Ghali:
Iram comprising the columns, (i.e., It is the city of Aad, who were stalwart and huge buildings).

Abdul Haleem:
of Iram, [the city] of lofty pillars,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
ستونوں والے ارم کے ساتھ

Suhel Farooq Khan:
यानि इरम वाले दराज़ क़द

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Iaitu penduduk “Iram” yang mempunyai bangunan-bangunan yang tinggi tiangnya, (sesuai dengan penduduknya)

ٱلَّتِي لَمۡ يُخۡلَقۡ مِثۡلُهَا فِي ٱلۡبِلَٰدِ

8.     Allatee lam yukhlaq misluhaa fil bilaad
The likes of whom had never been created in the land?

 

Yusuf Ali:
The like of which were not produced in (all) the land?

Abul Ala Maududi:
the like of whom no nation was ever created in the lands of the world?

Muhsin Khan:
The like of which were not created in the land?

Pickthall:
The like of which was not created in the lands;

Dr. Ghali:
The like of which was not created in the lands?

Abdul Haleem:
whose like has never been made in any land,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
جس کی مانند (کوئی قوم) ملکوں میں پیدا نہیں کی گئی

Suhel Farooq Khan:
जिनका मिसल तमाम (दुनिया के) शहरों में कोई पैदा ही नहीं किया गया

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Yang belum pernah diciptakan sepertinya (tentang besar dan kukuhnya) di segala negeri (pada zamannya)?

وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُواْ ٱلصَّخۡرَ بِٱلۡوَادِ

9.     Wa samoodal lazeena jaabus sakhra bil waad
And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley?

 

Yusuf Ali:
And with the Thamud (people), who cut out (huge) rocks in the valley?-

Abul Ala Maududi:
And how did He deal with Thamud who hewed out rocks in the valley?

Muhsin Khan:
And (with) Thamud (people), who cut (hewed) out rocks in the valley (to make dwellings)?

Pickthall:
And with (the tribe of) Thamud, who clove the rocks in the valley;

Dr. Ghali:
And (with) Tham‍d? who carved out the rocks in the valley,

Abdul Haleem:
and the Thamud, who hewed into the rocks in the valley,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اور ﺛمودیوں کے ساتھ جنہوں نے وادی میں بڑے بڑے پتھر تراشے تھے

Suhel Farooq Khan:
और समूद के साथ (क्या किया) जो वादी (क़रा) में पत्थर तराश कर घर बनाते थे

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Dan (terhadap) kaum Thamud yang memahat batu-batu besar di lembah (Wadil-Qura iaitu tempat tinggalnya)?

وَفِرۡعَوۡنَ ذِي ٱلۡأَوۡتَادِ

10.  Wa fir’awna zil awtaad
And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? –

 

Yusuf Ali:
And with Pharaoh, lord of stakes?

Abul Ala Maududi:
And with Pharaoh of the tent pegs

Muhsin Khan:
And (with) Fir’aun (Pharaoh), who had pegs (who used to torture men by binding them to pegs)?

Pickthall:
And with Pharaoh, firm of might,

Dr. Ghali:
And (with) Firaawn, (Pharaoh) owning the bulwarks? (Or: stakes).

Abdul Haleem:
and the mighty and powerful Pharaoh?

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اور فرعون کے ساتھ جو میخوں واﻻ تھا

Suhel Farooq Khan:
और फिरऔन के साथ (क्या किया) जो (सज़ा के लिए) मेख़े रखता था

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Dan (terhadap) Firaun yang menguasai bangunan-bangunan yang handal kukuh?

ٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡبِلَٰدِ

11.  Allazeena taghaw fil bilaad
[All of] whom oppressed within the lands

 

Yusuf Ali:
(All) these transgressed beyond bounds in the lands,

Abul Ala Maududi:
who transgressed in the countries of the world

Muhsin Khan:
Who did transgress beyond bounds in the lands (in the disobedience of Allah).

Pickthall:
Who (all) were rebellious (to Allah) in these lands,

Dr. Ghali:
(They) who tyrannized in the lands,

Abdul Haleem:
All of them committed excesses in their lands,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
ان سبھوں نے شہروں میں سر اٹھا رکھا تھا

Suhel Farooq Khan:
ये लोग मुख़तलिफ़ शहरों में सरकश हो रहे थे

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
(Semuanya itu ialah) orang-orang yang telah bermaharajalela di negeri (masing-masing).

فَأَكۡثَرُواْ فِيهَا ٱلۡفَسَادَ

12.  Fa aksaroo feehal fasaad
And increased therein the corruption.

 

Yusuf Ali:
And heaped therein mischief (on mischief).

Abul Ala Maududi:
spreading in them much corruption?

Muhsin Khan:
And made therein much mischief.

Pickthall:
And multiplied iniquity therein?

Dr. Ghali:
So they worked much corruption therein,

Abdul Haleem:
and spread corruption there:

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اور بہت فساد مچا رکھا تھا

Suhel Farooq Khan:
और उनमें बहुत से फ़साद फैला रखे थे

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Lalu mereka melakukan dengan banyaknya kerosakan dan bencana di negeri-negeri itu.

فَصَبَّ عَلَيۡهِمۡ رَبُّكَ سَوۡطَ عَذَابٍ

13.  Fasabba ‘alaihim Rabbuka sawta ‘azaab
So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment.

 

Yusuf Ali:
Therefore did thy Lord pour on them a scourge of diverse chastisements:

Abul Ala Maududi:
Then their Lord unloosed upon them the lash of chastisement.

Muhsin Khan:
So your Lord poured on them different kinds of severe torment.

Pickthall:
Therefore thy Lord poured on them the disaster of His punishment.

Dr. Ghali:
Then your Lord poured on them the scourge of torment?

Abdul Haleem:
your Lord let a scourge of punishment loose on them.

Muhammad Junagarhi:
آخر تیرے رب نے ان سب پر عذاب کا کوڑا برسایا

Suhel Farooq Khan:
तो तुम्हारे परवरदिगार ने उन पर अज़ाब का कोड़ा लगाया

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Dengan yang demikian, Tuhanmu mencurahkan ke atas mereka berbagai paluan azab;

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِٱلۡمِرۡصَادِ

14.  Inna Rabbaka labil mirsaad

Indeed, your Lord is in observation.

 

Yusuf Ali:
For thy Lord is (as a Guardian) on a watch-tower.

Abul Ala Maududi:
Truly your Lord is ever watchful.

Muhsin Khan:
Verily, your Lord is Ever Watchful (over them).

Pickthall:
Lo! thy Lord is ever watchful.

Dr. Ghali:
Surely your Lord is indeed Ever-Observing.

Abdul Haleem:
Your Lord is always watchful.

Muhammad Junagarhi:
یقیناً تیرا رب گھات میں ہے

Suhel Farooq Khan:
बेशक तुम्हारा परवरदिगार ताक में है

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Sesungguhnya Tuhanmu tetap mengawas dan membalas, (terutama balasan akhirat)

فَأَمَّا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِذَا مَا ٱبۡتَلَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَأَكۡرَمَهُۥ وَنَعَّمَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيٓ أَكۡرَمَنِ

15.  Fa ammal insaanu izaa mab talaahu Rabbuhoo fa akramahoo wa na’ ‘amahoo fa yaqoolu Rabbeee akraman
And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, “My Lord has honored me.”

 

Yusuf Ali:
Now, as for man, when his Lord trieth him, giving him honour and gifts, then saith he, (puffed up), “My Lord hath honoured me.”

Abul Ala Maududi:
As for man, when his Lord tests him by exalting him and bestowing His bounties upon him, he says: “My Lord has exalted me.”

Muhsin Khan:
As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honour and gifts, then he says (puffed up): “My Lord has honoured me.”

Pickthall:
As for man, whenever his Lord trieth him by honouring him, and is gracious unto him, he saith: My Lord honoureth me.

Dr. Ghali:
Then, as for man, just when his Lord tries him, so He honors him, and showers His favors on him, then he says, “My Lord has honored me.”

Abdul Haleem:
[The nature of] man is that, when his Lord tries him through honour and blessings, he says, ‘My Lord has honoured me,’

Muhammad Junagarhi:
انسان (کا یہ حال ہے کہ) جب اسے اس کا رب آزماتا ہے اور عزت ونعمت دیتا ہے تو وه کہنے لگتا ہے کہ میرے رب نے مجھے عزت دار بنایا

Suhel Farooq Khan:
लेकिन इन्सान जब उसको उसका परवरदिगार (इस तरह) आज़माता है कि उसको इज्ज़त नेअमत देता है, तो कहता है कि मेरे परवरदिगार ने मुझे इज्ज़त दी है

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
(Dalam pada itu manusia tidak menghiraukan balasan akhirat), oleh yang demikian, maka kebanyakan manusia apabila diuji oleh Tuhannya dengan dimuliakan dan dimewahkan hidupnya, (ia tidak mahu bersyukur tetapi terus bersikap takbur) serta berkata dengan sombongnya: “Tuhanku telah memuliakan daku!”

وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبۡتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيۡهِ رِزۡقَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيٓ أَهَٰنَنِ

16.  Wa ammaaa izaa mabtalaahu faqadara ‘alaihi rizqahoo fa yaqoolu Rabbeee ahaanan
But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, “My Lord has humiliated me.”

 

Yusuf Ali:
But when He trieth him, restricting his subsistence for him, then saith he (in despair), “My Lord hath humiliated me!”

Abul Ala Maududi:
But when He tests him by straitening his sustenance, he says: “My Lord has humiliated me.”

Muhsin Khan:
But when He tries him, by straitening his means of life, he says: “My Lord has humiliated me!”

Pickthall:
But whenever He trieth him by straitening his means of life, he saith: My Lord despiseth me.

Dr. Ghali:
And just when He tries him, so He determines for him the right estimate of his provision, then he says, “My Lord has degraded me.”

Abdul Haleem:
but when He tries him through the restriction of his provision, he says, ‘My Lord has humiliated me.’

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اور جب وه اس کو آزماتا ہے اس کی روزی تنگ کر دیتا ہے تو وه کہنے لگتا ہے کہ میرے رب نے میری اہانت کی (اور ذلیل کیا)

Suhel Farooq Khan:
मगर जब उसको (इस तरह) आज़माता है कि उस पर रोज़ी को तंग कर देता है बोल उठता है कि मेरे परवरदिगार ने मुझे ज़लील किया

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Dan sebaliknya apabila ia diuji oleh Tuhannya, dengan disempitkan rezekinya, (ia tidak bersabar bahkan ia resah gelisah) serta merepek dengan katanya: “Tuhanku telah menghinakan daku!”

كَلَّاۖ بَل لَّا تُكۡرِمُونَ ٱلۡيَتِيمَ

17.  Kalla bal laa tukrimooo nal yateem
No! But you do not honor the orphan

 

Yusuf Ali:
Nay, nay! but ye honour not the orphans!

Abul Ala Maududi:
But no; you do not treat the orphan honourably,

Muhsin Khan:
Nay! But you treat not the orphans with kindness and generosity (i.e. you neither treat them well, nor give them their exact right of inheritance)!

Pickthall:
Nay, but ye (for your part) honour not the orphan

Dr. Ghali:
Not at all! No indeed, (but) you do not honor the orphan,

Abdul Haleem:
No indeed! You [people] do not honour orphans,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
ایسا ہرگز نہیں بلکہ (بات یہ ہے) کہ تم (ہی) لوگ یتیموں کی عزت نہیں کرتے

Suhel Farooq Khan:
हरगिज़ नहीं बल्कि तुम लोग यतीम की ख़ातिरदारी करते हो

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Jangan demikian, (sebenarnya kata-kata kamu itu salah). Bahkan (perbuatan kamu wahai orang-orang yang hidup mewah, lebih salah lagi kerana) kamu tidak memuliakan anak yatim, (malah kamu menahan apa yang Ia berhak menerimanya);

وَلَا تَحَـٰٓضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ

18.  Wa laa tahaaaddoona ‘alaata’aamil miskeen
And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor.

 

Yusuf Ali:
Nor do ye encourage one another to feed the poor!-

Abul Ala Maududi:
and do not urge one another to feed the poor,

Muhsin Khan:
And urge not on the feeding of AlMiskin (the poor)!

Pickthall:
And urge not on the feeding of the poor.

Dr. Ghali:
And you do not urge one another on (offering) food to the indigent,

Abdul Haleem:
you do not urge one another to feed the poor,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اور مسکینوں کے کھلانے کی ایک دوسرے کو ترغیب نہیں دیتے

Suhel Farooq Khan:
और मोहताज को खाना खिलाने की तरग़ीब देते हो

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Dan kamu tidak menggalakkan untuk memberi makanan (yang berhak diterima oleh) orang miskin;

وَتَأۡكُلُونَ ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكۡلٗا لَّمّٗا

19.  Wa taakuloonat turaasa aklal lammaa
And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether,

 

Yusuf Ali:
And ye devour inheritance – all with greed,

Abul Ala Maududi:
and greedily devour the entire inheritance,

Muhsin Khan:
And you devour inheritance all with greed,

Pickthall:
And ye devour heritages with devouring greed.

Dr. Ghali:
And you eat the heritage with indiscriminate eating,

Abdul Haleem:
you consume inheritance greedily,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اور (مردوں کی) میراث سمیٹ سمیٹ کر کھاتے ہو

Suhel Farooq Khan:
और मीरारा के माल (हलाल हराम) को समेट कर चख जाते हो

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Dan kamu sentiasa makan harta pusaka secara rakus (dengan tidak membezakan halal haramnya),

وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلۡمَالَ حُبّٗا جَمّٗا

20.  Wa tuhibboonal maala hubban jammaa
And you love wealth with immense love.

 

Yusuf Ali:
And ye love wealth with inordinate love!

Abul Ala Maududi:
and love the riches, loving them ardently.

Muhsin Khan:
And you love wealth with much love!

Pickthall:
And love wealth with abounding love.

Dr. Ghali:
And you love wealth with an ardent love.

Abdul Haleem:
and you love wealth with a passion.

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اور مال کو جی بھر کر عزیز رکھتے ہو

Suhel Farooq Khan:
और माल को बहुत ही अज़ीज़ रखते हो

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Serta kamu pula sayangkan harta secara tamak haloba!

كَلَّآۖ إِذَا دُكَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ دَكّٗا دَكّٗا

21.  Kallaaa izaaa dukkatil ardu dakkan dakka
No! When the earth has been leveled – pounded and crushed –

 

Yusuf Ali:
Nay! When the earth is pounded to powder,

Abul Ala Maududi:
But no; when the earth is ground to powder,

Muhsin Khan:
Nay! When the earth is ground to powder,

Pickthall:
Nay, but when the earth is ground to atoms, grinding, grinding,

Dr. Ghali:
Not at all, When the earth is pounded (into powder), pounding, pounding,

Abdul Haleem:
No indeed! When the earth is pounded to dust, pounded and pounded,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
یقیناً جس وقت زمین کوٹ کوٹ کر برابر کر دی جائے گی

Suhel Farooq Khan:
सुन रखो कि जब ज़मीन कूट कूट कर रेज़ा रेज़ा कर दी जाएगी

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Jangan sekali-kali bersikap demikian! (Sebenarnya) apabila bumi (dihancurkan segala yang ada di atasnya dan) diratakan serata-ratanya,

وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلۡمَلَكُ صَفّٗا صَفّٗا

22.  Wa jaaa’a Rabbuka wal malaku saffan saffaa
And your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rank,

 

Yusuf Ali:
And thy Lord cometh, and His angels, rank upon rank,

Abul Ala Maududi:
and when your Lord appears with rows upon rows of angels,

Muhsin Khan:
And your Lord comes with the angels in rows,

Pickthall:
And thy Lord shall come with angels, rank on rank,

Dr. Ghali:
And your Lord comes, and the Angels rank on rank,

Abdul Haleem:
when your Lord comes with the angels, rank upon rank,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اور تیرا رب (خود) آجائے گا اور فرشتے صفیں باندھ کر (آ جائیں گے)

Suhel Farooq Khan:
और तुम्हारे परवरदिगार का हुक्म और फ़रिश्ते कतार के कतार जाएँगे

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Dan (perintah) Tuhanmu pun datang, sedang malaikat berbaris-baris (siap sedia menjalankan perintah),

وَجِاْيٓءَ يَوۡمَئِذِۭ بِجَهَنَّمَۚ يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ

23.  Wa jeee’a yawma’izim bi jahannnam; Yawma ‘iziny yatazakkarul insaanu wa annaa lahuz zikraa
And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell – that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance?

 

Yusuf Ali:
And Hell, that Day, is brought (face to face),- on that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance profit him?

Abul Ala Maududi:
and when Hell is brought near that Day. On that Day will man understand, but of what avail will that understanding be?

Muhsin Khan:
And Hell will be brought near that Day. On that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance (then) avail him?

Pickthall:
And hell is brought near that day; on that day man will remember, but how will the remembrance (then avail him)?

Dr. Ghali:
And Hell is made to come (face to face) upon that Day, man will remember, upon that Day, and however will the Reminding (avail) him?

Abdul Haleem:
when Hell is that Day brought near- on that Day man will take heed, but what good will that be to him then?

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اور جس دن جہنم بھی ﻻئی جائے گی اس دن انسان کو سمجھ آئے گی مگر آج اس کے سمجھنے کا فائده کہاں؟

Suhel Farooq Khan:
और उस दिन जहन्नुम सामने कर दी जाएगी उस दिन इन्सान चौंकेगा मगर अब चौंकना कहाँ (फ़ायदा देगा)

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Serta diperlihatkan neraka Jahannam pada hari itu, (maka) pada saat itu manusia akan ingat (hendak berlaku baik), dan bagaimana ingatan itu akan berguna lagi kepadanya?

يَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي قَدَّمۡتُ لِحَيَاتِي

24.  Yaqoolu yaa laitanee qaddamtu lihayaatee

He will say, “Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life.”

 

Yusuf Ali:
He will say: “Ah! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my (Future) Life!”

Abul Ala Maududi:
He will say: “Would that I had sent ahead what would be of avail for this life of mine!”

Muhsin Khan:
He will say: “Alas! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my life!”

Pickthall:
He will say: Ah, would that I had sent before me (some provision) for my life!

Dr. Ghali:
He will say, “Oh would that I had forwarded some good for my (future) life!”

Abdul Haleem:
He will say, ‘Would that I had provided for this life to come!’

Muhammad Junagarhi:
وه کہے گا کہ کاش کہ میں نے اپنی اس زندگی کے لئے کچھ پیشگی سامان کیا ہوتا

Suhel Farooq Khan:
(
उस वक्त) क़हेगा कि काश मैने अपनी (इस) ज़िन्दगी के वास्ते कुछ पहले भेजा होता

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Ia akan berkata: “Alangkah baiknya kalau aku dahulu sediakan amal-amal baik untuk hidupku (di sini)!”

فَيَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٞ

25.  Fa Yawma izil laa yu’azzibu ‘azaabahooo ahad
So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment,

 

Yusuf Ali:
For, that Day, His Chastisement will be such as none (else) can inflict,

Abul Ala Maududi:
Then on that Day Allah will chastise as none other can chastise;

Muhsin Khan:
So on that Day, none will punish as He will punish.

Pickthall:
None punisheth as He will punish on that day!

Dr. Ghali:
So, upon that Day none will torment as He torments, (Literally: “as” His tormenting).

Abdul Haleem:
On that Day, no one will punish as He punishes,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
پس آج اللہ کے عذاب جیسا عذاب کسی کا نہ ہوگا

Suhel Farooq Khan:
तो उस दिन ख़ुदा ऐसा अज़ाब करेगा कि किसी ने वैसा अज़ाब किया होगा

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Maka pada hari itu tiada sesiapapun yang dapat menyeksa seperti azab (yang ditimpakan oleh) Allah.

وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٞ

26.  Wa laa yoosiqu wasaaqa hooo ahad
And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers].

 

Yusuf Ali:
And His bonds will be such as none (other) can bind.

Abul Ala Maududi:
and Allah will bind as none other can bind.

Muhsin Khan:
And none will bind as He will bind.

Pickthall:
None bindeth as He then will bind.

Dr. Ghali:
And none will bind (as) His binding.

Abdul Haleem:
and no one will bind as He binds.

Muhammad Junagarhi:
نہ اسکی قید وبند جیسی کسی کی قید وبند ہوگی

Suhel Farooq Khan:
और कोई उसके जकड़ने की तरह जकड़ेगा

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Dan tiada sesiapapun yang dapat mengikat serta membelenggu seperti ikatan dan belengguNya.

يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَئِنَّةُ

27.  Yaaa ayyatuhan nafsul mutma ‘innah
[To the righteous it will be said], “O reassured soul,

 

Yusuf Ali:
(To the righteous soul will be said:) “O (thou) soul, in (complete) rest and satisfaction!

Abul Ala Maududi:
(On the other hand it will be said): “O serene soul!

Muhsin Khan:
(It will be said to the pious): “O (you) the one in (complete) rest and satisfaction!

Pickthall:
But ah! thou soul at peace!

Dr. Ghali:
O you self (that is) composed,

Abdul Haleem:
‘[But] you, soul at peace:

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اے اطمینان والی روح

Suhel Farooq Khan:
(
और कुछ लोगों से कहेगा) इत्मेनान पाने वाली जान

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
(Setelah menerangkan akibat orang-orang yang tidak menghiraukan akhirat, Tuhan menyatakan bahawa orang-orang yang beriman dan beramal soleh akan disambut dengan kata-kata): “Wahai orang yang mempunyai jiwa yang sentiasa tenang tetap dengan kepercayaan dan bawaan baiknya! –

ٱرۡجِعِيٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةٗ مَّرۡضِيَّةٗ

28.  Irji’eee ilaa Rabbiki raadiyatam mardiyyah

Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him],

 

Yusuf Ali:
“Come back thou to thy Lord,- well pleased (thyself), and well-pleasing unto Him!

Abul Ala Maududi:
Return to your Lord well-pleased (with your blissful destination), well-pleasing (to your Lord).

Muhsin Khan:
“Come back to your Lord, Well-pleased (yourself) and well-pleasing unto Him!

Pickthall:
Return unto thy Lord, content in His good pleasure!

Dr. Ghali:
Return to your Lord satisfied with Supreme Satisfaction!

Abdul Haleem:
return to your Lord well pleased and well pleasing;

Muhammad Junagarhi:
تو اپنے رب کی طرف لوٹ چل اس طرح کہ تو اس سے راضی وه تجھ سے خوش

Suhel Farooq Khan:
अपने परवरदिगार की तरफ़ चल तू उससे ख़ुश वह तुझ से राज़ी

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
“Kembalilah kepada Tuhanmu dengan keadaan engkau berpuas hati (dengan segala nikmat yang diberikan) lagi diredhai (di sisi Tuhanmu) ! –

فَٱدۡخُلِي فِي عِبَٰدِي

29.  Fadkhulee fee ‘ibaadee
And enter among My [righteous] servants

 

Yusuf Ali:
“Enter thou, then, among My devotees!

Abul Ala Maududi:
So enter among My (righteous) servants

Muhsin Khan:
“Enter you, then, among My honoured slaves,

Pickthall:
Enter thou among My bondmen!

Dr. Ghali:
So enter among My bondmen!

Abdul Haleem:
go in among My servants;

Muhammad Junagarhi:
پس میرے خاص بندوں میں داخل ہو جا

Suhel Farooq Khan:
तो मेरे (ख़ास) बन्दों में शामिल हो जा

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
“Serta masuklah engkau dalam kumpulan hamba-hambaku yang berbahagia –

وَٱدۡخُلِي جَنَّتِي

30.  30. Wadkhulee jannatee
And enter My Paradise.”
Yusuf Ali:
“Yea, enter thou My Heaven!

Abul Ala Maududi:
and enter My Paradise.”

Muhsin Khan:
“And enter you My Paradise!”

Pickthall:
Enter thou My Garden!

Dr. Ghali:
And enter My Garden!

Abdul Haleem:
and into My Garden.’

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اور میری جنت میں چلی جا

Suhel Farooq Khan:
और मेरे बेहिश्त में दाख़िल हो जा

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
“Dan masuklah ke dalam SyurgaKu! “
